Name: NetPosse Cold Cases Blaze and Zip
Gender: Mare
Species: Horse
Breed: Quarter Horse
Description: NetPosse Case ID #1449: Zip (Finally Got Zipped) and Blaze.
As of the last official updates from 2012 to 2026, Blaze and Zip remained unrecovered, and their current whereabouts are officially unknown. Despite significant media coverage and community efforts, no public reports have confirmed their return.
Case Details & Status:
Stolen Date: Late night January 30, 2012, or early morning January 31, 2012.
Location: Camp El Har, a Southwest Dallas church camp near the intersection of Spur 408 and I-20.
Status: Listed as a "Cold Case" by Stolen Horse International (NetPosse).
The camp's equestrian director, Tiffany Gardner, stated in later interviews that the lack of closure was particularly painful for the children who used them for therapy.
Why They Haven't Been Found
The theft appeared highly professional, which hindered recovery:
Calculated Entry: Thieves targeted the most remote section of the fence and cut both barbed and electric wires.
Stealth Move: The horses were led through three adjoining properties to avoid being seen on camp cameras or from the main road.
Targeting Obedience: The thieves specifically chose the two most obedient and "easiest" horses from the herd of ten, likely because they would load onto a trailer without a struggle.
