11/5/10 - Wiley has been RECOVERED! I have talked with Patrice and other than scrapes and cuts he is doing well. He was found 4-5 miles from the Pequaywan Inn in a wooded area near water by some of the volunteers on 4-wheelers.

"The turn out to find Wiley has been tremendous", says Patrice. "This would not have happen without the help of so many. Thank you all so much."

Patrice has a five hour drive home but promises to send pictures when she arrives. Check back later for happy shots of the reunion between Patrice and Wiley. Make sure you take time to send along your congradulations to Patrice at patriceun@yahoo.com. And don't forget her friend Colleen who has been manning the internet and helping out as well. MISSING HORSE FOUND

DULUTH-The missing horse who certainly lived up to his name earlier this week is back with his owner.

"Wiley" the horse galloped away from a Pequaywan cabin on Oct. 31.

Searchers went by air, ATV, horseback and foot to seek him out.  They finally found him about five miles away from where he took off.

His owner, Patricia Underwood, wants to thank all the volunteers who offered to help.  Helpers, she says, she never doubted.

"We had one guy that said 'I don't know anything about horses, but I came up to look 'cuz I know what it would be like to lose my dog," she said.

Wiley is doing just fine aside from a few scrapes on his legs. Fox 21 News Coverage

Missing rural Duluth racehorse found alivewileyandrescuegroup.jpg

The big gray horse was found by two local residents about six miles north of where it wandered into the woods near a cabin.

Wiley, the former racehorse missing in rural Duluth since Sunday, has been found.

Hoof-prints were found near a logging road Thursday, and searchers returned to that area today. Wiley’s owners were concerned about the dapple-gray horse being in wooded areas as hunting season approached.
