Whre in the world is Deseada?
Stolen Horse International, Inc.™, also known as NetPosse.com, reports that another horse, who has a newborn filly and is valued at $25,000, has gone missing from a farm in southwest Miami-Dade County. The owners are distraught and says his prized horse was stolen, according to the Sun Sentinel.
Deseada, an 11-year-old Andalusian show horse disappeared sometime during the night of Wednesday, January. 18th and is thought to be stolen from the farm at 13405 SW 199th Avenue.
On Dec. 3, the mare gave birth to a filly named Condesa and was still nursing her when the theft happened.
Deseada's owner Mauricio Guillen says his family has had the horse for eight years and they are heartbroken.
Debi Metcalfe, president of Stolen Horse International and whose nonprofit organization has dealt with thousands of victims says, “We have been
dealing with the thefts of horses in Miami Dade County for years. They have a much higher rate of theft per capita than any other county we have dealt with in the United States. We hope to have an official NetPosse Alert out soon. This horse is microchipped and she will be easly to identify once located."
Stolen Horse International strongly encourage the public to call Miami Dade Police Agricultural Unit at 786-218-8344 with any information that may help Deseada come home. A reward is offere by Crimestoppers.
