STOLEN EQUINES, – Bella and Mr. Buster Brown aka “Romeo” – North Carolina

Clyde (Haywood County), NC Monday, October 24, 2016

On Saturday October 22, 2016 at approximately 4:20am, Russ Parker’s horses, Bella and Romeo were reported stolen from their property. Bella is a 16-year-old Silver Dapple Appaloosa/Quarter Horse Mare. Romeo is a 13-year-old Chestnut with Flaxen Mane Miniature Gelding.

Mr. Parker asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating Bella and Romeo. On October 22, 2016, Mr. Parker advised that at approximately 4:20 am the horses were stolen. They have pictures of Truck and Trailer and Description by worker that saw the truck and trailer. The horses were transported across state line to Knoxville Livestock Auction in Mascot, TN. Horses were sold Saturday Afternoon, October 22, 2016. At this time, it is thought that Romeo may still be in Tennessee and Bella may be in Louisiana. Russ Parker has notified Haywood County Sheriff Department of the stolen horses.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“These horses are our family.”, says Russ Parker. “Bella is my daughter’s horse and we have owned her since she was 6 months old. Romeo has been trained as a driving horse.” Mr. Cadwell went on to tell Stolen Horse International, that their horses are not just “barnyard animals” and they are part of their family. He explained that they love them and want them home.

On October 24, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Parker and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Bella and Romeo’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in their NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. People interested in helping can search for report number NR005083 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: https://netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5083

“Circulating Bella and Romeo’s flyer and the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as they could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Bella and Romeo’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Russ Parker, Haywood County Sheriff Department or Stolen Horse International with any information.
