Holly, sent out for training, never came back
NJ.com published an article on October 14, 2016 featuring several of our listings. According to the article:
Horses can go missing for many reasons. Horses sold or given away, or even adopted out with a contract may not be protected. Here are some open cases filed with Netposse.org:
According to the incident report:
In 2011 Holly, a bay Pony Of The Americas went missing from Pittsville, Md.
Holly had been sent to a "friend" for training under the understanding that the man was to train her and give her back or give her to a good home if she could not be calmed. It was learned late last year that Holly was not kept by that man but was taken to New Holland Auction despite a promise he would not do that.
The statute of limitations had run out in Maryland, so the owners were unable to pursue criminal proceedings.
The owner want to know if Holly is safe, they would like her back but if the horse is happy in her current home, they just want to know where she is.
