On Saturday, September 7, a beautiful, 17-year-old, Bay Arabian Gelding named Marcuz was stolen from his pen in Amador County, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. He was last seen in Ione. The other pony-jumper was left in its pen. It is believed that Marcuz was walked away from his pen, as there were no tire marks indicating a truck or trailer, and hoof-prints showed signs of a struggle. The alleged thieves are suspected of targeting Marcuz specifically, as they had to travel through three gates and down a gravel road to find the horse at the back of a 40-acre property. It is being investigated by the Amador County Sheriff’s office as a theft.
Identifying marking on Marcuz includes a white stripe on his face, a white stocking on his left front leg and white socks on his right front and right rear legs. He also has a scar on his right rear shin. For complete details of the case, visit netposse.com and enter report number #005043.
