Stolen Horse International-NetPosse.com is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a global network created to help people search for missing and stolen horses, tack, trailers & equipment and locate owners of found horses. Join us as we increase public awareness of horse theft and ways to keep your horses safe.
Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animal Services, Horses Mission: First formed in 1998, Stolen Horse International, Inc. (SHI), also known as NetPosse, brings attention to a major crime against horse lovers: horse theft. Thousands of horses are stolen or gone missing each year in the US. The mission of SHI is to provide a comprehensive theft awareness and identification program to all facets of the horse industry and offer educational opportunities for horse enthusiasts of all types and disciplines. SHI assists victims in recovering missing horses through the NetPosse volunteer network. Many horses have been recovered due to swiftly distributed information and flyers via the internet with Stolen Horse International-NetPosse.com Alerts. Target demographics: horse owners, victims services, educational outreach Geographic areas served: primarily the USA, recently expanded to the UK, consulting in several other countries.
Programs: education and resources about equine identification, the prevention, and security of owner’s horses, barns, stables, farms, homes, and trailers; and, in the event of theft, to provide counseling and resources to aid in the most effective and efficient recovery possible of their equine, tack, or equipment.
