Name: Shakedownthecartel
Species: Horse
Breed: Quarter Horse
Description:

July 31 2016 Lynda Reece aka Lydia Nicole Culp operating by the under the name Jones Performance Horses reached out to me on Facebook about Shakedownthecartel aka CJ a 5 yr old AQHA gelding bay, with a Jud Little brand on left hind quarter, and a GW brand on his right hind quarter. Over the next few days we messaged back and forth. She asked for pictures, videos and a pedigree, which I did send. By August 2 we had agreed on a sale price of $4000.00 to be made in 2 payments of $500(one as a deposit and one at the time of picking up the horse) as well as a partial trade of a 2010 Caldwell Rocket barrel racing saddle(valued at $3000.00) I received a check in the amount of $500.00 on an Adrenaline Racing &Fabrication LLC check by registered mail on or about the August 5 2016. This was the deposit check. On Monday August 8 2016 I deposited this check in my account at PNC, there were no issues. Over the next 2 weeks I stayed in touch with Lydia to schedule a pick up date for CJ, the horse she planned to purchase. Finally on August 18 Lydia and her “husband” Kenny Reece met me at the stable where CJ was boarded (Kenmar Farms 1512 Washington Rd Apollo PA 15613) to pick him up. At that time she was also to bring the saddle we agreed on as a partial trade and the balance of $500.00 that was owed for CJ. They were to be there at 4pm. They arrived at about 2:30pm They were driving a newer Dodge Ram pickup, black and a 4 horse white trailer. I do not remember the make. They both gave me a story about traffic and a blown tire. When I asked her where the saddle and the check were she stated she forgot the saddle and that she had the check in the truck. That she would ship me the saddle. I told her she could not have his registration papers until I had the saddle and the second check had cleared the bank. And that she would have to sign a contract agreeing to both and that if I did not receive the saddle within the week I would be coming to get CJ. She agreed to sign the contract and went to the truck to get the check and sign the paper work. As I was in the barn Kenny took CJ to walk around and quickly loaded him. Lydia gave me the contract that was to be signed stating she paper clipped the check to it and they quickly left stating they did not want to hit traffic on their way back to Northfield OH. As I flipped thru the contract I realized not only was the check not there she had not signed the paper work. I corresponded with her several times over the next 11 days in efforts to keep track or her and CJ as I thought this was someone honest, but was beginning to get concerned. I spoke to her numerous times throughout this time frame. I asked about the saddle. I asked about the check. On August 30 she reached out to me about a different saddle, again another Caldwell. She sent me pictures via fb messenger. She asked if I wanted her to ship it to me. I agreed. She sent it via Fedex and I received it on August 31 2016. Delivered to my employer at my request. The evening of August 31, 2016 I emailed Caldwell saddlery requesting a valuation letter for my insurance and sent along pictures of the saddle and its serial number. September 1 2016 Charon Caldwell emailed me that the saddle had been reported to them as stolen and she provided me the name of the rightful owner, Lisa Hill of Griffin Ga. Charon did put me in touch with Lisa. Lisa and I spoke. She explained that the saddle had been sold to Lydia for $3000.00. That Lydia had paid with an Adrenaline Racing Check and that it had bounced. That she had made attempts to get Lydia to make it right. I promised Lisa I would not return her saddle to Lydia. We both agreed that if Lydia paid Lisa for the saddle by Satuday morning that I would keep the saddle as my part of this transaction. I also spoke with Lydia and explained she was not getting the saddle back as it was stolen. And at that point she had transferred stolen property as part of a business transaction and if she did not make it right I would be coming for CJ. She explained she had it under control and would be paying Lisa on Friday. I heard nothing further from Lydia after September 1st. Over the following days Lisa Hill and I stayed in touch and by Sunday September 4 after numerous attempts to reach Lydia I decided to return home early from my trip to start trying to locate CJ. Monday September 5 I called the Summit County OH sheriffs dept to ask for assistance in locating my horse and explained this entire situation. I was called back by officer Bob Alderman Sr. who advised that Lydia Culp had been arrested in a drug raid at 8644 Olde 8 Rd Northfield OH on Friday September 1st and was in jail. He stated that there were many things at the residence that hinted at involvement in the horse industry however no horses. At this time he agreed to help me find CJ. Throughout the day, over several phone calls it was established that there could be a few locations that CJ could be located. I was advised that I could post on Facebook regarding this situation. Which I did to several community pages. Shortly thereafter I was contacted by a woman(Alex Gaydos 112 Valley Street Duboistown PA 17702) with whom Lydia had made arrangements to show my horse and another horse with the intentions of selling them. She gave me an address. I provided this information to Officer Alderman. They confirmed with pictures and sheriffs that my horse was at the address and that safe. After confirming that the barn owner was not conspiring with Lydia I was given the go ahead to make the trip to Top Notch Farms owned by Debra Pizzino of 7417 Cedar Rd Chesterland OH to recover my horse. I picked CJ up on Tuesday September 6 2016. I shipped Lisa Hill her saddle on Wednesday via USPS. **Please not that since picking CJ up it has also come to my attention that Lydia did insure Cj aka SHakedownthecartel in the amount $25000.00 Policy #535593 with Justin Insurance. 5305 Temple Hall Hwy Granbury TX 1800-972-0272 I have since been in touch with the insurance agency . The investigating detective has requested I file a police report and have it forwarded to him.
