Description : Horse was leased to private party in Carrollton, Georgia, who allowed a third party to borrow the horse for a few weeks under another short-term lease agreement. This person, with knowledge of lessee, transferred possession of Rio to a trainer in GA. The trainer provided board/care for the horse for almost a year as the person giving her possession failed to retrieve the horse. In late 2012, the horse was transported to Georgiana, Ala. to another party and subsequently sold. Owner has copy of original lease stating horse was not to be sold. Furthermore, the lease stated horse could not be transferred to another location without notifying the owner.
