CISCO FROM CANADA
In Memory of Cisco
Well yesterday was a day I will never forget in all my life, it was devastating, heart breaking, guilt ridden and anything else that goes along in that category.
Ed made it home (he works away for long periods at a time) the other night, and I asked him if we could please go walk the pasture as we had not done that 'ourselves', the guy we rented the pasture off had rode the quad over it several times, even his son had rode it several times, but I needed to do it myself so we knew in our hearts. I had drove around inside all of the pasture, but there was some spots that a truck was unable to go.
Well Ed, Josh and I went out and split up, we got 3/4 of the way through the pasture and it was bad luck for Josh as he was the poor sole who found Cisco. :(
He was devastated, and heart broken and he couldn't even speak, it was Ed
who happened to notice Josh had stopped walking and asked him what was up, he still couldn't say anything so Ed went over.
There was Cisco, from what we can tell he had to have fallen into a soft spot, all that was sticking out was his head. If I had one prayer, I would pray he didn't suffer, this has been such a rough day on all of us. I know I said many times that I would have
sooner found him dead, well I don't know if I feel the same way now, I
do know that nobody is hurting him, but this is such heartbreak.
When I thought he was stolen I still had hope to someday touch him again, this is such a loss and a lesson to be learned...a tough one! You see this was not our pasture, our horses had only been there 2 months, the guy we rented it off said when Cisco first went missing that there was nothing for wetlands in the pasture, and that he had kept 30 head of horses there ever since he moved there and none of his ever went missing. So we all assumed Cisco had been stolen.
This has been so hard on all of us, I'm sure it will take some time before our hearts will heal. But I would like to thank every one of you, who helped me in my search, I'm sorry it all ended this way. You have all been so supportive, it was a good feeling to know there is so many good people out in this world willing to give a hand to a stranger.
My search is over, all that's left now is the healing of our hearts.
THANKS TO ALL!
GOD BLESS!
Always
Becky
Sometimes things happen just in time to help with one's sorrow. In May, this son of Cisco was born. Although the blaze is a little wider he still favors his dad. I hope he brings you all the joy that his dad did. What a beautiful reminder of a wonder friend.
