Thank you. We had an article written up in our local newspaper regarding the trailer. A man a few towns over had read the article. Later in the morning he was bicycling in a remote canyon a County over from us. This canyon is very steep and the roads are very winding. There is a sign at the bottom that says no trailers allowed. His name in Mark Shamblin. He saw the trailer, remembered the article and gave me a call. He described the trailer and 'it was ours'.
We called the Sheriff in that County, I did not want to be hauling and get pulled over at gun point. They refused to come out due to the remoteness and no address. I sent one of our volunteers out with the directions provided by Mark. He found it and identified it. Our Sheriff called the other County Sheriff and got them out to do the report. Then we took it home. It was a hairy, steep, winding road down, but we made it ok with the help of the sheriff behind us with his lights on so that other vehicles did not come up on us to fast.
The best parts... all of our tack was still in the tack room, only minor damage, and Mark declined our $500.00 reward offer saying, "you are a non-profit and help horses. I don't want to take you money" …
How great is that!
