NetPosse Member has Tack Stolen - Lowndes County, AL - July or August 2006
Well, I certainly wasn’t one to say that "it won't happen to me" since this is the second time my saddles have been stolen, and my horses were stolen twice in the same year back in 1996 (civil and successfully recovered). Ironically, these saddles replaced the ones I got with my first horse when I was 10. A few years later, we had ALL of our tack ripped off, that’s when I purchased these. I am incredibly grateful that I had a couple of saddles in the house, and they weren't interested in the non-western saddles. Unfortunately, they did get the two I can't replace!
I know the saddle were in the barn when I left for North Carolina on July 23 (part of my time was spent at SHI headquarters, oddly enough!), but when I stopped at the barn and decided to check on my saddles this afternoon, which I often do as we have a lot of crime in the area, I immediately knew I was missing some of them ... all of my horses came up – NOTHING could have made me feel better – at least it wasn’t any of them!
I must say that my horses were very supportive … usually they just stand around waiting to see if it’s feeding time then wander off. They came up and loved on me, and a couple I think were even trying to help make notes. One grabbed my notebook in his teeth and tried to take it! So there is some joy in the midst of it all

I’ll be hitting the area with flyers tomorrow. I truly believe they were quickly traded for drugs, but I have faith they will show up sooner or later … after all, 10 … even 25 years ago, I didn’t have the Power of the Internet nor the Support of NetPosse … Thanks everyone!
