UPDATE:
Stolen Horses Returned

SNOHOMISH COUNTY - A happy end to the tale of a Sultan
horse-napping.
Carrie Conway's four horses vanished from a farm on Tuesday.
Conway suspected one of her horse trainers was to blame. Police
say she was right.
The suspect's father saw Conway's story on the news (see
previous story here) and brought the horses back to Conway
Thursday afternoon.
"I went to my horse named Lady first and gave her the
biggest hug," said Conway. "It's just a huge, huge
relief to know they are back with me safe."
The horses were slightly hurt in the ordeal, but overall
they're okay.
Police think the trainer owned someone some money and was going
to give the the horses to them to pay off her debt.
Four Horses
Stolen From Sultan Farm
March

By April Zepeda
SNOHOMISH COUNTY - The Snohomish County Sheriff's office is
investigating the disappearance of four horses stolen in broad
daylight.
On Tuesday, someone with a four-horse trailer pulled up to a
farm in Sultan, loaded up the animals, and left. Investigators
suspect they were handed off to someone else at a rest stop near
Stanwood, but from there, the trail goes cold.
The horses' owner, Carrie Conway, worries she may never see
them again.
"They could be sold at auction, but if they aren't sold
for really cheap, they could go for meat," Conway said.
Snohomish County investigators say they usually see one or two
stolen horses a year, but never four at once.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Snohomish
County Sheriff's Office.
