Supplemental to Missing Horse Report submitted online at netposse.com on March 31, 2005, by Elaine Garrison

On April 6, 2004, my filly, the 2002 foal out of Sweet Weave, registered with The Jockey Club by me, and named “Storm’n Sweetpea”, arrived at
a training facility in Hurricane, Utah, to be broken, then turned out. She has not been tattooed.
On August 13, 2004, the trainer erroneously shipped my filly to another
trainer at Golden Gate Fields, in Albany, CA, believing it was the 2001 foal out of
a different barn, ready for the
racetrack.
The owner who received this filly did not fill out a registration application for The Jockey Club until December 2004, therefore she submitted the physical description and pictures of my filly, along with the DNA sampling she had taken from her filly long before it left for
the trainer in Utah.
Shortly thereafter, the assumed filly was injured while training at Golden Gate Fields. Since it was also assumed she was a 3 yr. old, etc.,
the lady decided to stop training and give the horse away. She cancelled the registration application, that is now in the possession of The Jockey Club, and the identity process was never completed by The Jockey Club.
On December 21, 2004, this owner's assumed filly was shipped to a man in
Sacramento County, CA.
He and his wife both love horses. They find good homes for those
horses they cannot keep.
On January 31, 2005, my filly (which is actually the 2001foal out of a
different dam) was shipped to my trainer, at Golden Gate Fields. It was not until she was ready to be tattooed that the horse identifier saw this filly did not match the description of Storm’n Sweetpea.
With the help of The Jockey Club it has been determined that the filly presented to
the trainer and owner at Golden Gate Fields on August 13, 2004 was “Storm’n Sweetpea”.
The Jockey Club sent me the photos submitted and I have confirmed that it is indeed my Sweetpea.
The people in Sacramento County are not sure they received my filly. The entry in
their journal of the horse arriving at their ranch that day does not match the description of Sweetpea. Whatever horse arrived that day was given or sold to an individual from Placerville, CA, who then resold it to a member of a search and rescue unit in the Reno, NV, area.
The last accurate sighting of “Storm’n Sweetpea” was on December 21, 2004, at Golden Gate Fields, Albany, CA.
