Reba, Missing Palomino From Hocking County Ohio Pasture - RECOVERED!!!!

Debi,
I just received a call about REBA. She has been found!!!! Evidently she had wandered off and fallen down into a ravine and landed on a ledge that was only 5 feet wide. She could not turn around to get back out because the drop-off was straight down probably 100 feet or more to the bottom. The search parties had been past the area several times but she could not be seen from the top. So, today as they were searching they heard her call out to them. She was hoisted off of the ledge and is back in the barn. Other than the four days she went without food or water and the adverse weather conditions she endured on the ledge she is O.K.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your help and taking the time to listen to me cry over the telephone. We need more people like you and our horses would be a lot safer. I am certainly going to look into the chips and a tattoo/number identification. I used to think that those things were only for really expensive horses with famous bloodlines. However, after this past weekend I realized that even though they do not have big bloodlines I love them and I will get them a chip and tattoo. If oyu have nay information on either I would appreciate having it.

Thanks again and I will certainly be making a donation to your organization first part of the new year when I get a few dollars.

Rebecca

other notes: I bought Reba 11 years ago from a horse trader that had rescued her from an abusive home. She was about 600 lbs under weight. I nursed her back to health and since that time she has been a wonderful addition to our family.  She had a foal 7 years ago name Reba's Mystique Rose. She loved being a mother. I recently bought a home with property and built a barn. We just finished stretching fence and I had hoped to reunite Reba and Misty at my home in the spring of 2006. She is a gentle and loving horse.
