horses name: Marigold

breed: QH

sex: Gelding

color: Sorrell

age: 13

weight: 1000

height: 14.2 to 15 hands

identifiable characteristics: This gelding is totally unridable due to a old shoulder kick injury as a foal. He has one right front club foot hoof and sits high on the heel. He had tendon surgery to allow his leg to extend. He looks kind of straight legged on the right front. The left front hoof bares more weight so he has a wide spread hoof. He has a slight limp more noticed at the trot. His 2 rear hooves are normal size.

  • He is sorrel but is mane and tail is blonde mixed with ginger, gold.
  • He has a star snipe stripe on his forehead.
  • Has a short necked and body conformation.
  • And his right shoulder sticks out slightly.
  • The injury makes the horse known it a very distinctive injury with the one odd hoof and all

For more info on the woman involved with this case please contact Trecia Brown at myhappyhorses@webtv.net

how missing: Marigold was last in the Rose Rdge Ln area of Vale, NC. He was LOANED to a woman there.  He was a on loaned companion horse to her blind mare (sandy) and a bay mare by the name of Casey. I had called the woman  about once every few months to make sure the horse was ok. Well I tried to call her just before this Christmas of 2003 and was surprised that she'd had her number disconnected. So i sent her a card and it was sent back from the post office saying that she had moved no forwarding address. As soon I knew she'd moved I contacted Lincolnton Sheriffs Office for Vale area NC and the detective that went around spoke with new  people that had bought her property and they said the woman moved out west and sold the horses. She moved without returning Marigold to his real owner or disclosing the new where abouts of Marigold. Marigold was loaned to this woman on the terms that if she ever moved or she did not want the horse it must be returned to it's real owner. Marigolds owner is very concerned for the horses safety and welfare as if the horses was sold at a sale Who would want to invest money in a horse with a leg injury and his owner is worried incase the horse was sold for wrongful purposes. We would be really happy if Marigold was found alive and I could bring him to his loving home so he could never go missing again. He's like a member of our family and we love him dearly and I would take him back no matter what condition he's found in. I will love him and care for him always at least he's alive but the question is what has happened to him ? Where is he? Anyone knowing the where abouts of Marigold or having info on this woman or any of her family members if Marigold is dead or alive please contact Lt, Ronny Matthews at the Lincolnton Sheriffs Office 704-735-8202
