been FOUND!
NC/SCEl Ray - Saturday morning, October 9th, El Ray, a 5 year old, chestnut gelding spooked and got out an opening in a gate/fence. Fantasia is located near Why 75 west out of Waxhaw and Hwy. 521 south from Pineville to Lancaster. There are railroad tracks parallel to Hwy. 75, so you can see the concern for safety to the horse as well as traffic in those areas.

Dear Friends,
Here is some good news about a horse that's been missing in Lancaster County, South Carolina, just outside Waxhaw.
The Paso Fino gelding, El Ray, was being led from pasture to barn when he spooked and ran out an open gate. The gate was open to clear an area, of course the horse went out and away he went with halter and lead in tow. Following the power line, the horse crossed Hwy 75, a set of railroad tracks and off into wooded land. Another major road, Hwy 521, a four lane one with lots of truck traffic is also nearby.
Authorities in 2 states and 3 counties were notified, a reward was set out, a helicopter hired to search overhead, over a thousand posters distributed and lots of folks on foot and horse back searched.
After 2 weeks with no further information or sightings of the horse, the barn manager received word that a horse was out in the woods, but took off. Shortly the fugitive was apprehended, in very good condition. Laurie said he wasn't thin when he got out, and he came back fatter than when he left.
Thanks to all those who spent time working to find El Ray. He has a wonderful home with people who really love him.
