Missing Thoroughbred from Manor, Texas
Note to NetPosse - 7/12/2004 2:20:19 PM Eastern Standard Time
We still haven't made any headway with Buster. This is the story of
a horse being pastured on someone else's property. The family had
talked to us about buying Buster but no contract was ever made up and
we weren't sure we wanted sell him. About 3 months later we told the
family that we were going to pick Buster up and bring him home to take care of his Coggins test & West Nile vac., but we got the run
around. Finally, they told us that Buster was no longer with them
because they traded him for a Jeep. We have been in contact with the
original owner of the Jeep (through the license plate number) and he
states he does know where the horse is but will not tell anybody until he is reimbursed. The family who traded him came over and
offered to make payments...which will take almost two years to pay in
full. We have been in contact with the local authorities and of course this is a civil case so we have filed all the necessary
paperwork and done all we can do. We are very worried that we will
never see Buster again. He is a purebred Thoroughbred but we hadn't
registered him. He is a 4yr old, solid Bay, he is small for his breed and has a small hoof dent in his neck. He was pastured in the
Manor/Webberville Texas area.
Thank you

type: Another persons pasture
city county: Manor - Travis County
horses name: Buster
breed: Thoroughbred
sex: Gelding
color: Bay
age: 4
weight: 1000
height: 15 hands (approx)
identifiable characteristics: He has no white. He is very
gentle and nosey. He thinks he needs to be in the middle of
everything people are doing
how missing: We let him go to another pasture to keep a horse
company. The people were going to also work him and possible
purchase him. They didn't do either. Instead they
traded him for a Jeep. We have spoken with the owner of the
Jeep and he won't tell us where the horse is.
local agency: Sheriff's Office
agency address: Manor
agency city: Manor
agency state: TX
agency zip: 78653
other notes: We have contacted the sheriff's office but they can't
do much because we let the horse off of the property willingly.
We do have the proper people involved but it is taking forever.
We are afraid Buster will be long gone.
