Subject: Star: Missing in GA since Jan. 1, 2008: FOUND 13 weeks and 6 days later!
We wanted to let everyone that has contacted us and in any way offered to help us find Star that she was found today. She was about 3 miles from home, and about 80 lbs. shy of her normal weight. We don’t feel that she was stolen, but it did take a very long time for word to get to us of her whereabouts. We were told that she had been in a pasture with some cattle for the last 5-6 weeks, however we don’t know where she was between the time she disappeared and the time she appeared in this pasture. Star is now back in the pasture with our gelding. He is very VERY happy for her to be back, and WILL NOT let her out of his sight. Since she has been gone, he had been grieving constantly. You could see it in his demeanor and in his eyes, and you could watch his anxiety, as he watched for her to return, almost constantly. Star is the only companion that Bucky, our gelding has ever known. Now that they are back together, they will, no doubt, need to become reacquainted, somewhat, but we are glad that Star has been returned. She is more nervous than usual right now, but she remembers all of us. She has gotten more gray hair in her mane, I’m sure, not only from age, but from the stress of the last three months away as well. She has a few more spots that have turn her coat white, probably from cuts from a fence here and there, but she is back safely with us.
We want to thank you all for your support, efforts, concern, and prayer, and thank God for her safe return to us. We truly had nearly given up hope to ever see her again. We can only pray that there are more missing horses returned to their rightful owners.
Thank you all VERY MUCH. If there is anything we can do for you or others that have listed their horses on Netposse.com, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
