Hello Everyone at NetPosse.com,
I'm crying as I type this. Saturday March 29, my father and I made the 2 hour drive to Rittman, Ohio to pick up Silver! It was very emotional for everyone involved.
I just want to thank you for developing this website. If it were not for the website, I never would have found Silver. I'm going to send emails out to all the horse magazines I can think of, and ask them to do a story on your website. The more people that know about the site, the more people that may have the chance to be reunited with their horses.
My Dad kept saying on the trip back home, that we've come full circle in this search for Silver. I have to agree with him, and I have to think that my Mom is smiling down from Heaven; I'm sure she had something to do with it.
Thank you for helping me find my horse,
Cheri (Camp) Potter

how missing: I was young and couldn't afford to board 2 horses at the time. I was actively involved in barrel racing so Silver wasn't getting the attention he deserved. I placed an ad on Yahoo! Classifieds. A family from Wadsworth, Ohio bought him. I have since lost their information. I know that the father worked for Coca Cola. I wrote them a two-page letter that described his personality, likes/dislikes, and most importantly to please keep in contact with me. I was very clear that if they should ever decide to sell him I wanted first option to buy back. I have never heard from them. I now am married and have a farmhouse, barn with 7 acres. My dad is almost finished building two beautiful stalls. Having Silver back would complete my lifelong dream. I would love to reunite him with his barnmate "Blue." My mother is the one that originally found Silver and she has since passed away. It would mean so much to me and my father if we could somehow get Silver back.

Hello!
Hi I'm Cheri Potter and I placed an ad with you guys back in the beginning of
December. Yesterday I got a phone call from his current owner of 1 yr. Her friend
saw the ad on your site and informed her of it. She called me at work yesterday and
we spoke for a long time! She has actually been thinking of selling him and would
love it if I were the one to buy him back. We are currently trying to work something
out. Just wanted to let you know! [He is in] Wadsworth, OH.
Thank you! Cheri Potter

Hello Everyone at NetPosse.com,
I'm crying as I type this. Saturday March 29, my father and I made the 2 hour drive to Rittman, Ohio to pick up Silver! It was very emotional for everyone involved.
What was most sad to me is that in order for me to be reunited with Silver, an 8 yr old girl named McKayla had to be willing to give up her horse. When my Dad and I walked into the barn, McKayla was taking her last ride on Silver. She brought him up to me with tears streaming down her face. I have to say, I felt like a monster.

Her mother Beth and I had discussed the fact that Silver may not be the best choice for an 8 yr old girl's mount. Silver has always been a spooky horse and although he does awesome at a place he's used to, when you take him out of that element, he can be unpredictable. I am trying to help them as much as I can, to find a suitable 4-H project for McKayla and in time for the May deadline :)
Anyway, I just wanted to share these pictures of our reunion. I think the coolest part of the whole day was when Silver walked into the barn and saw Blue for the first time in 9 yrs. I expected a little squealing, etc. but there was nothing but affection. In the pictures, Blue's neck is really arched which gives the impression that he was acting "studly", but he immediately started nuzzling and licking Silver. Silver was a little spooky as I was expecting, but he calmed down when he saw Blue.
I also realized that the information I originally gave you for my ad was incorrect. Upon looking over Silver's registration papers, I sold him May 26, 1999, almost 9 years ago. After I had him, Silver changed hands 3 times! It's unfortunate that the people I sold him to never contacted me when they decided to sell, but I believe that everything happened when it was supposed to. I probably wouldn't have been able to buy him back when they sold him. If they hadn't have sold him, I never would have met the Horners, and let me tell you, they are a special family.
In closing, I just want to thank you for developing this website.
