1993 Bay AQHA Gelding purchased in Oakbrook, Illinois - Current Owner Trying to Track Registration

realname: Rebecca Hickman
email: neverknow@gotsky.com
city: Potomac
state: IL
zip: 61865
home phone: 217-304-3470
date last seen: Current
location: Oak Brook, Illinois
horse name: Iowa
breed: Quarter horse
gender: gelding
color: bay (red brown) with black mane and tail
dob age: 1993 - He is supposed to be or soon to be 15
weight: 1000-1100 lbs
height: 15.3-16h
how missing: He is in my possession still. I bought him in March from a lady who owned him for 8-9 years. Complete with all vet records and the same boarding place the whole time. She bought him from a couple. Here is that story. The guy bought the horse to fit in with the horse things. He rode western, she rode English. They split up and the lady sold Iowa to his last owner. He was to be a registered quarter horse. The guy never gave the papers to his last owner out of spite to the girlfriend. Now 9 years later, she can't remember their names. She wasn't able to get his registered info then and I'm trying now. He is not a stolen horse, but his paperwork has been lost and withheld, I'd like to get his history and papers. AQHA won't help us unless we have his full name or the last registered owner name. If we can track that down it would be wonderful.
markings:
- bay - almost chestnut (reddish brown)
- black mane and tail
- white just above the hoof on the back feet
- white star on his forehead (hidden by bangs)
- brand on his left back hip - the letter L rolled back, under it is a slash the same direction as the L at the top of the slash is an upside semi circle with a star on the end of it. (star may be an x or end of an arrow, hard to tell)
- No obvious scars or other markings
- very gentle, has kind eyes
- easy to approach, but if you are outside the fence he doesn't just come to the fence
- will pin his ears back when horses walk by him
skills: He rode English all while former owner had him, not sure before that. He's very well behaved and trained. Moves easily.
