citycounty missing: Camp Pendleton, California
horses name: Dakota

age: 4
weight: 1200 lbs

identifiable characteristics: "eye liner" on his L eye. Medicine Hat Paint ("bonnet covers his L eye, but not R eye), large palomino "spot" on his L shoulder, just behind the withers, and about 7 inches below. His rear is mostly Palomino, bi-colored tail.
how missing details: I had him for a bit over a year. I paid cash for him. No receipt. I had full custody of him. NO attempt from previous owner to contact or see him, nothing. She wouldn't return my calls about his registration either. His previous owner allegedly came to the base stables, said I never paid, and took him. I do have him registered with a color registry (the ISHR, International Spotted Horse Registry), that is dated Jan 1 of '01. Which is a few days after I bought him.

other notes: I was told that it is considered a civil case. He was taken off a Military base. The Military Police wouldn't help because he was removed from the property, they said I had to contact the Vista Sheriff. I did so, and the sheriff told me that the MPs has to take care of it because it happened on the base! I have gotten nothing but dead ends, and no one will help me. (contact owner for more details)
I do know that my horse was seen off the 78 highway in the Vista area. I can get exact location of his last whereabouts, as my good friend saw him there. This friend also saw the previous owner walking with him down a road in Vista, the previous owner smiled and waived at my friend. My husband has been home from Iraq for a few weeks before she took him. What a wonderful homecoming!
