how missing: All horses locked up tight with a final hay feed at
9:30pm July 31. One stall door open at 6am August 1 when morning
hay was being dished out. Door was wide open and they are tough
doors to slide. These are full doors so the horses can't play
with the latches, and every door is double-latched at night. The
doors also slide into a clip at the bottom and a runner holds
the far side of the door in place. A horse did not open this
door. Also, night hay was not finished and this horse is a big
Clyde/TB cross who eats all her hay. Later,
hoof prints and
manure were found on a little used driveway on the property
behind the farm. There is access through an opening in the
fence line to this driveway from the farm (if you know that it's
there). This exit strategy would mean no "clip clop" on the
paved driveway of the farm itself.
