RECOVERED 7/19/07! ALL Four Horses Stolen in Sevier County, Tenn ~ June 29, 2007
All four horse were recovered successfully on 7/19/07!
One of Penny's co-workers took NetPosse flyers to an auction in Knoxville where the auctioneer recognized the horses. The horses had gone through the auction where a man had purchased all four for $800. The man admitted to having the horses and willingly gave them back to Penny.
Santana had new shoes and a bridle path. She had saddle sores on her back and underneath where someone had been riding her.
The state is taking over the case. It is not the first time the thief has stolen horses and he has not been out of jail long. He has been convicted of theft before for stealing horses and cattle.
Penny has also had tack stolen a few months ago. It was mostly bits and spurs but not saddles.

how missing: Black pickup pulling red trailer pulled up, cut fence and loaded horses. Neighbor saw them pull up but did not see them cut the fence, so she did not think it was suspicious, so they went inside. When owner got there after work 4 of 5 horses were gone.
