8-29-08 - We heard this good news from Melanie by phone. Scooby and Patty have been RETURNED! The two horses were returned to a neaby cattle pen near the pasture from which disappeared. The gates at that location had been padlocked after Patty and Scooby's disappearance. It is thought that the horses were brought back and put in this neighboring paddock because they could not be put back into their own pasture. Both were wearing halters when they were returned. They did not have them when they went missing.
Law enforcement has been notified.
Please notify everyone for which you sent the IDAHO ALERT of the good news!
Melanie would like to send a big THANK YOU to all the people who have been helping search for her horses. She has received many calls and emails. She would especially like to thank those who have sent their thoughts and prayers.

how missing: My horses where in the pasture at 10:00 am on Tuesday the 26th and at 9:00am on the 27th they where missing. There was a gate that was pushed outward, and not fastened in a manner that I normally would latch it, and there where tracks where horses had walked through it. There where tire tracks in the grass just outside the fence as well.
other info: We shared a pasture lease with a man until last month. He did not pay his part of the lease for 3 months and the land owner removed his name from the lease. He moved his horses to a lot 2 doors down where they repeatedly got out. The day my horses came up missing the neighbor said that his horses had been out and that the mans wife told her that her uncle was coming to pick up his horses. Come to find out they are in the middle of a divorce. We are afraid that they accidentally pick up the wrong horses because his are also dark bay and sorrel. I spoke to the uncle yesterday, and he claimed that they had not taken them. We are afraid that they have and will not admit it now. They where taken in broad daylight on a busy street. We are afraid that they might be trying to get rid of them not to cover up the mistake.
