More from NetPosse member Deborah of Redwing Sanctuary: NetPosse posted 2/6/07

Just got off the phone with Stephenie's son and Kandi Bar is NOW BACK HOME. They spent 3 days without sleep driving all round ranches in their area, after someone contacted them and gave a description of Kandi Bar in the back of horse trailer at a 711.

He is underweight, covered in rain rot and burs, but he is safe and on the road to recovery. The DA will be proscuting the horse trainer who stole Kandi Bar last October.

This is the most wonderful part.... When Stephenie and her son went up to Kandi Bar, he snickered and winnied, licked his lips with excitement. Although they had only had him since August same year ... he recognized his family immediately, so did the mares back at their ranch.. :))

Eric asked if I would thank Debi and Angela for their hard work, and they will be contacting you directly to purchase the microchips for all their family of equines.

If you would like to email Stephenie directly with your congrats her email is js4towing@aol.com.

Thanks
Deborah

how missing: the trainer (contact owner for name) for my Stallion came to my house around 7:30 pm on October 20, 2006 advised my children that she was going to take KandiBars Krunch to a horse show in Orville, California, and that I told her is was okay to take him. I was not home and unreachable. My daughter assumed it was okay for her to take him. I soon as I came home, I called trainer’s cell phone. She advised me that she would bring him back, she never returned. I have spoken to several of her family members no one has seen or heard from her. I purchased Kandi Bar in July, and I had to wait for his Registration Paperwork to come from POA in order to report him stolen in Sacramento County.

more info:
Trainer said she would return after the show on the 21ST. She did not return, On Sunday, I looked online for District in Orville. Their show was canceled. There was no show held. She lied and did not take him to a show. Owner believes she had every intention of taking him and not returning him, That is why when she was on her way to my house she called to see where I was and what time I thought I might be home. She wanted to go over the breeding program for 2007. I have not heard from her about my horse, I have left several messages with her family and friends along with her husband and her known attorney, that I would be reporting the horse as stolen if she did not return him immediately. I received the paperwork from POA in regards to my little guy today (2/2/07) on the pending Registry, which allowed me to report him stolen. I never gave her permission to take him and she removed him from the property in the presence of a minor, and manipulated her into thinking it was okay. Sacramento County Sheriff was contacted back in October after the incident occurred. I was advised that, I needed to show proof of ownership of the horse just like I would have to show ownership of a car. I had to wait until I got the proper paperwork from the Ponies Of The Americas. The Sheriff’s Dept. made a theft report, which I will have in ten days by mail. The neighbor also viewed the accused moving the horse from my property, and made a statement to law enforcement.
