how missing: This mare was taken from our farm on a trial basis as this woman described herself as a broker, and I retained the AQHA registration papers to maintain ownership. She then later decided that she would like her for herself and offered me a deal, I declined and put in stipulations of my own and that the registration papers would not be transferred until she was paid for in full. This was to occur by may 1st and did not happen. She decided that the mare was not worth what we were asking any longer and did not want her but sent us a 5000 plus board bill for the time she had her. When we arrived with the sheriff to get our property back, she denied any knowledge of the horse she told him "what horse, I dont know anything about a horse", this woman is cunning and has obviously acquired horses in this manner in the past, she went from 4 to 12 our last visit, not counting my two, the mare and now her one month old filly which she also tried to hide from us. how missing: This mare was taken from our farm on a trial basis as this woman described herself as a broker, and I retained the AQHA registration papers to maintain ownership. When we arrived with the sheriff to get our property back, she denied any knowledge of the horse she told him "what horse, I don't know anything about a horse", this woman is cunning and has obviously acquired horses in this manner in the past, she went from 4 to 12 our last visit, not counting my two, the mare and now her one month old filly which she also tried to hide from us. Then claimed in an email there were complications, then stated they were too attached to let her leave. They were in a pen with broken down vehicles, rusting piles of metal, wire hanging out places etc..............the filly had huge marks on her from another horse attacking her, and that's when we told her the mare was coming home. She has not paid for this mare, I maintain ownership thru AQHA, I also sent in the papers for the filly thru APHA that in process right now, She has lied to authorities she will lie to anyone, and we fear the mares whereabouts at this time, it has been mentioned she has been moved to another location somewhere with family in the ozarks but we do not know. We were to stay put when the sheriff went over there to investigate, so we did not get a visual on may 02, 2008. We are desperate to get our girls back home and away from this woman, I have placed dogs for her in the past, retired breeding dogs, and she had our female papillon at the time she decided we were not getting our horse back, she was willing to fork her over to the sheriff, probably to hide the conditions of the place of which we have not seen but now wonder. I did not know of this awful situation until I was into it, and had no idea that I was not protected by the retainment of her registration papers. There were no signed contracts just verbal agreements between so called friends, and electronic communications. Including this enormous board bill she has emailed us.
other info: this woman has family with horses and it is believed that after the arrival of the sheriff questioning the mare and filly were moved to another location. She is the president of a local horseshow association representing the club as a mentor for children which is highly inappropriate, she must be stopped, I feel there are probably other stolen horses on her property as she went from 4 to 12 in a few months time and is very low income. Two of the dogs we placed from this place were full of heartworm and one has since died while being treated, they have others I found out the last time I was there, that are dying and they are not even bothering to treat, waste of time and money according to them, they apparently run a puppy mill of sorts as I was told they have three litters of puppies right now. I am devastated to find out this stuff afterwards, I trust people and they end up to be really bad human beings.
