location: somewhere between Fredricksburg, PA and eastern New Mexico – Horse was picked up in Pennsylvania. Transporter was known to have been in South Carolina and Missouri (where the horse supposedly died) then transporter returned to their ranch in eastern New Mexico (where they said they buried the horse) before bringing another horse to client in Arizona
how missing: A hired transport picked up my TB stallion, Honor Boy and my Belgian gelding at a rescue in PA on the 23rd of May. On the 24th I was informed that the stallion was sick. I gave authorization to have the horse taken to a vet but this was not done. They insisted that he had strangles and that a vet couldn't treat it anyway. They had tranquilized my horse upon loading him in the trailer when he started to fight with another stallion next to him. There were no stallion dividers so the horses could touch through the bars. I did not give permission to do this and was told only that he was dangerous by the transporter. I was not told that he had been placed next to their own personal stallion who started the fight in the first place. After repeatedly telling them to take him to a vet, I was told on Friday, May 26th that my stallion lay down and died in the trailer for "no apparent reason" No pictures were taken. No vet was summoned. I was then told that he had no lip tattoo and that he had a terrible underbite and was much older than 17 years old. They insinuated that I had been sold a different horse that Honor Boy. The horse had been positively identified the day before pick-up by the state vet as well as the volunteers at the rescue. There was no doubt that the horse on that trailer was Honor Boy. It was only after I was told that he "died" that these discrepancies were told to me by the shippers. They then hauled the dead body in the trailer all the way from Missouri to their ranch in New Mexico where they said they buried him. Still, no pictures or proof that he died a natural death.

other: (Per Stacy Martin) The Hired Transport either killed this horse, sold him to someone or still has him alive at their farm. No pictures of his body were taken, lies were told from the very beginning as to his disposition and how THEY handled him. They refused to take him to a vet despite my telling them to do so. They also lied about him not having a tattoo and being older than he should have been.
(NetPosse note from information provided by Stacy Martin, client) Transporter did not have client sign a contract until AFTER they picked up the horse and AFTER informing client he was sick. Transporter made client pay FULL transportation fees for BOTH horses upon arriving in Arizona, though contract stated upon delivery of horses. Only one horse was delivered to client, and no proof of stallion’s sickness or demise has been given to client. There are more details that cannot be publicly released pending further review.
