Two Thoroughbreds (Gimmick is a cross) Missing from Board Barn Dec 2006 in Brewster, New York

Subject: Re: FW: reply - Hollywood & Gimmick
HI!!!!
The lien was ruled as defective and I was able to pick the horses up today. I need to go to court on Tuesday again for (bran owner) to give a bill to the court of what he thinks he is owed. I had about $5000 of stuff stolen. I can't believe how that stuff adds up. It took me years to buy all of the blankets, chaps, tack etc. I am soooo thankful to have my horse back. My horse enjoyed a solid hour of kisses :). Also, when we went this morning with the court order (barn owner) would not let the horses go. He had his lawyer summit a motion with a higher court today and he lost again. That will not far well in court later.
Thanks again, Meg
NETPOSSE NOTE: Meg picked up Hollywood. He is lame in the front, but is expected to be okay. Gimmick is being returned to his owners in Indiana.

how missing: had agreement with (contact owner for name) on board paid when one of the three horses I had sold. He reneged on his agreement and said I owed him board. He didn't come up with an amount he "made up" until later. He let one horse, Coby, that did not belong to me pay some money and leave in the first week in Oct. I and a lawyer called him everyday to make arrangements to get my Hollywood and Gimmick out of barn with all my equipment. He did not return phone calls and I got the run around. Barn owner called (contact owner for name), a lawyer, on a Saturday night at 8pm to inform them he sold my horse and no longer had it. I then went to the police and filed a report –barn owner said he had the horses. I went to the barn with the police on Jan 3(?) and I confirmed Hollywood was not at the barn.
$14,000 of equipment at the barn is also missing!

more info: Gimmick placed at the east coast finals as a 5yr old. He has shown in several USET equitation classes always placing. Gimmick is wonderful to ride on the flat; he stays really soft and is very comfortable. Gimmick has a great personality; he has been used in lessons with children and adults. At the same show he can compete in 2'6" hunters and 3'9" jumpers. He is very brave, jumping open water, ditches, natural obstacles, as well as going through water. He has been on many trail rides and can go out by himself just fine. Gimmick has been evaluated by several professionals and is thought to be an excellent event prospect. I am starting Vet school this fall and will no longer have the time or money to ride.
