March 2 , 2010 ~ Our heart goes out to the owners of Ginger, the beloved horse of an Ohio family. The horse either was taken out of the barn or she somehow opened her stall door and a barn door to get out into a freezing blizzard. We may never know what really happen.

This is a sad ending but there is a silver lining in the sadness ... Jesse will now be able to mourn his loss and not be left to wonder about Ginger, like the many victims who are awaiting the closure they need so much.

This note was sent to Debi Metcalfe from Jesse's son-in-law Ted:

Hello Debi,

I wanted to let you know Ginger was found yesterday. A neighbor found her remains in creek bed a couple of miles from home. We still are unclear as to how she could have gotten out of her stall and out of a closed barn. It is a really sad thing to deal with.

We do appreciate all the time and prayers of all who have been concerned for Ginger. Please continue your good work. When a loss such as this occurs it opens your eyes to many things around us, and points out how many good people are involved with horses.

We will continue to monitor alerts of others who may have four footed friends missing.
