RECOVERED 10/13/08 - Red Dun Quarter Horse Mare - Missing from Picket Line - Monroe County, AL - Oct. 13, 2008
NetPosse Update 6/20/09 - One of the greatest privileges Debi and I have is to meet the people that are helped by this amazing NetPosse network of volunteers. I hoped after Buttons was recovered that I would be able to meet Dee and this horse.
On June 20, 2009, not only did I enjoy meeting Dee and Buttons and riding with her, but my daughter, Cori, actually rode Buttons that day at Russell Lands on Lake Martin, Alabama.
After riding the beautiful wooded trails next to the lake where I have so many treasured childhood memories, we ate lunch and got to swim with the horses. What an awesome day we had! ~ Angela Kirby
Kristan has been in contact with Dee all day, and she called about 7 pm tonight to say that BUTTONS HAS BEEN RECOVERED!
This news is THRILLING!
After searching all day, Dee got a call from a lady who'd found Buttons! Dee's husband picked her up so Dee can check her out, but she seems to be fine.
Buttons wandered up to her farm and the lady called around and was given Dee's number.
DEE THANKS EVERYONE FOR THEIR EFFORTS! It was the quick response and getting the word out that helped in this search.
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF ONE! One phone call, one flyer, one email, one fax! Time is of the essence in these cases and Dee and her friends took quick action!
I can promise that no one wants go through what Dee did today. She searched relentlessly for almost 12 hours. What happened to Buttons could happen to anyone and their horse!
Be sure that your horse has ID! Be sure that you know who to contact if your horse becomes missing!
NetPosse will be glad to help ... we love nothing more than a happy ending!
I haven't had the opportunity to meet Dee yet, but she is local to me so I hope to see her and Buttons on the trail soon!
