Rescue Facility Hit; Horse Whipped

Rescue Facility Hit; Horse Whipped

23 April 2013

Okay, we need some help with the thinking here. This doesn't make sense. Not the least little bit of sense.....

Why break into a rescue/therapy center to steal saddles? Every bit of their stuff is going to be extremely well used. This is not the kind of stuff you can pawn or sell for a lot of money. It just isn't. Its value lies in being used THERE.used saddles.jpg

Ripping into hay bales and scattering it accomplishes.....?? Dogs scatter trash like that, but surely....

Then the most confusing of all, why abuse a friendly, trusting 18 month colt? They're looking for answers.

Carrie Aenk of Sheppard Horse Rescue in Springdale, WA sure doesn't have any. Whoever did this to her place and her horse may be somebody that she and her husband know.

The facility uses horses to work with veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and disabled children. Not having the saddles is a cruel blow to more than just Carrie and her husband-it also affects each and every one of the people who used them. The saddles were valued between $500-1000 each. Ten saddles were taken in the theft.

As far as the vandalism and the abuse to her colt, for now it just seems to be gratutitous violence. Police are continuing their investigation.
