Family loses dog and Stolen Horse International microchip program helps with reunion

Columbus, OH July 8, 2011 - Stolen Horse International / NetPosse.com specializes in search and recovery services, and to date, we have reunited hundreds of horses with their owners.  Occasionally we have a little different experience and bring home another animal.

This morning I received a call from Cristina, who works at Ohio State University. She had found a dog with a microchip that traced back to Stolen Horse International as the original purchaser of the microchip.

Right away I knew two things.  One, this lost dog had a microchip that had been obtained from our organization, and, two, the owner had not registered the microchip with the manufacturer after insertion or we would not be getting this call.

Within a few minutes we were able to search our records and come up with a person who had bought the microchip in question. We called the owner and let her know that her dog had been found, that he was safe and where he was located.

Cristina called a short time later and said, “I was shocked when a lady showed up to pick up her dog so fast after I called you.  I didn’t even know you were there. What a wonderful service you are providing.”

It is all in a day’s work here at Stolen Horse International.

It is important that all pets are microchipped.  If you don't think it is, check around to see how many "MISSING" flyers you find in area stores and ads you see on Craigslist.

Your pet depends on you for its care. When it sees a chance to wander, the last thing in its mind is the perils that lie ahead.  It is up to you to keep your pet safe.  If your pet becomes lost, a microchip might mean the difference in getting your pet home safe and sound or never seeing your pet again.
