STANLY COUNTY, N.C. – The search is on for a stolen horse in Stanly County.

Tina Schrimpsher says someone stole her horse named “Blaze” on Monday.

After searching her property, Schrimpsher found tire tracks and signs that a trailer had been brought through the woods.

Schrimpsher says Blaze belonged to her son who died a few years ago and she's offering a reward for the return of the horse.

"It's just been a nightmare,” she said. “I honestly just started doing Thanksgiving again after my son last year and now this Thanksgiving I’m out looking for his horse."

Police were notified of the situation.

If you have any information about Blaze's whereabouts, you are asked to contact your local law enforcement agency.
