OKLAHOMA - Two horses, valued at $80,000, have been recovered by law enforcement that were stolen during the Pittsburg County Free Fair on September 9, 2017. Two saddles that were also stolen are still missing.

Officers worked nonstop following leads, clues such as tracks and horse droppings, to try and find the horses. Officers interviewed possible witnesses to the thefts and through their investigation and tips from the public the horses were located.

The two horses were found tied to a tree near McAlester Lake in Pittsburg County approximately 10 hours after the theft and were returned to the owner.  The saddles are still missing.

The saddles are unique and hopefully someone in the public will spot them soon. One saddle has a picture of the state of Oklahoma and is embossed on the left side of the saddle with Champion Ribbon Roper 2015. The back of the saddle tree has “Austin” embossed on it as well. The other saddle is described as a well-worn saddle.

Stolen Horse International, Inc., aka NetPosse.com, asked anyone who has information about the thefts or who has information about the location of the missing saddles to contact the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Department at 918-423-5858.
