Bad Weather, Fires, Flooding

Bad Weather, Fires, Flooding

24 April 2017

Disasters happen-sometimes we get warnings, sometimes we don't. It is just a fact of life.

Saying it will never happen here is a fool's game sad to say. It can be the craziest things, too. Maybe the landowner next door decides to have his property logged. No problem, right? It's his land-he can do what he wants. But the guy driving the skidder drives it right through your fences-not once but THREE TIMES. Never bothers to say anything and goes home. First you know of it is the sheriff deputy pounding on the door at 1 am. Yep-that qualifies as a disaster.

Tornadoes ripping through would, naturally. They tear up fences and barns turning horses and all kinds of livestock loose in your community. Hopefully, they'll be uninjured, but they'll still be wandering away from home. Somebody will have to round them up and attempt to locate owners. Have you thought about how that would happen? Oh, your neighbors know your animals-that's nice. But what if they get several miles from home. THOSE people won't know them. Or if they get over a country line-that sheriff's department won't know to look for you 'next door'. Rut Roh to use that old phrase from the comic strip "Scooby Do".

That graphic above is from an article on our website that details actions and precautions you can take BEFORE any sort of calamity-little or big-happens in your life. We have found through years of work that these methods DO WORK. Sure-it takes some time and effort up front to do-we don't deny that. A small amount of money is involved. But when it comes down to whether or not you can go get your horse, trailer, truck, farm dog, or saddle back, it is worth every bit of the time, effort, and money you put into it.

You see, the law requires that the owner of any property be able to offer 'proof of ownership' when reclaiming lost or stolen items. You can't just walk up and point your finger with a claim of 'yessir, that horse there is mine.'. Any Maryjane, Terrieanne, or Melissa could do that. So you're going to have to show that it is indeed YOURS-or you will go back home angry and frustrated beyond words without your horse.
