Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - A missing horse in Kershaw County has been found and returned to her caretaker.

Kershaw County deputies say "Halle,' as she's known, was stolen from a home on Ridgeway Road sometime Monday.  But around 10 p.m. Tuesday night, a family in Lugoff said they heard a vehicle leaving the area near their home. When they went outside, they found Halle in their yard, and called 9-1-1.

A deputy confirmed that the animal was indeed the missing horse, and the caretaker was contacted, who picked up the animal.

It's still unclear who took the horse.

Halle lives toward the coast with its owner, but had been moved to Kershaw County temporarily when Hurricane Matthew struck.
