MISSING EQUINE, – PAINT JOB BY CHANCE aka “PJ” – CALIFORNIA

Doyle (LASSEN County), CA Thursday September 1, 2016

On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, Christian Pfiffner’s beloved horse, PJ, went missing from his pasture at a boarding ranch in Doyle, CA.

Christian Pfiffner asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating his  horse. Mr. Pfiffner advised that PJ was last seen Tuesday, August 23, 2016. There were no breaks in the fence and no signs of PJ have been found. Mr. Pfiffner is also filing a missing equine report with Lassen County Sheriff Department and notifying California and Nevada Brand Inspectors of the missing equine.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“He was being boarded on pasture at a ranch in Doyle, CA, in order to allow him heal stomach ulcers.”, says Christian Pfiffner. “PJ is a very herd-bound horse, and though he could easily jump the fence, the likelihood of him doing that without a reason is very low.” Mr. Pfiffner explained that there was no sign of a body from a possible cat attack or colic, and there were no holes in the fence as far as the ranch manager could tell. He further advised that for now they believe that PJ was taken from the property as he is the only one missing. Mr. Pfiffner has reached out to social media to help with the search as well as filing a report with NetPosse.

On August 31, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Pfiffner and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find PJ’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in his NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. People interested in helping can search for report number NR005028 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5028

“Circulating PJ’s flyer and the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as the horse could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post PJ’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Christian Pfiffner, the local Sheriff Department or Stolen Horse International with information.
