MISSING EQUINE FOUND – GUERNSEY – NEW YORK

Moravia (Cayuga County), NY Saturday, July 30, 2016

On Saturday, July 30, 2016, Stolen Horse International aka NetPosse.com was notified by Suzanne & Rodger Head that Guernsey has been found. Unfortunately, it is not the news that they had hoped for as she was deceased. From Suzanne Head:” Thank God for you and everybody that helped search for Guernsey. My neighbors and everybody has been so awesome.” Suzanne went on to tell us that if anyone in her area ever needs help searching for their horse, “I’ll be there for you too.”

On, Monday July 25, 2016 Suzanne & Rodger Head’s beloved horse, Guernsey, was reported missing from her pasture in Moravia (Niles), NY. Guernsey was a 30-year-old Paint TOBIANO - Quarter Horse Mare.

Suzanne & Rodger Head asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating their horse. Suzanne informed us that Guernsey was last seen on Monday, July 25, 2016. They had searched everywhere but there were some areas of their land that they could not get to. Stolen Horse International reached out to area drone pilots and with their assistance, after searching Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, they were able to locate Guernsey on July 30, 2016.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

Suzanne Head informed Stolen Horse International that Guernsey had been in their family for 25 years. Suzanne expressed her gratitude towards all her friends and neighbors, the media coverage, assistance of the drone pilots and the volunteers with Stolen Horse International.

On July 29, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Head and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family. Stolen Horse International also utilized their many resources to secure the drone pilots for the search for Guernsey.

You will find Guernsey’s webpage with information in his NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates will be posted. Please visit www.netposse.com to search for report number NR005001 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5001

Stolen Horse International would like to express the following, “We are all thankful for everyone that took their time to help with the search for Guernsey and especially to George Stowers and Rich Bellamy for the use of their skills and drones. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Head Family for their loss of their beloved horse, Guernsey. May you always keep the loved shared for Guernsey as part of your heart forever. We are so very sorry for your loss.”
