MISSING EQUINE – COOPER – MISSOURI

Cedar Hill (Jefferson County), MO Thursday July 14, 2016

Monday July 11, 2016, Mark & Suzanne Lenz’s beloved horse, Cooper, was reported missing from his pasture in Cedar Hill, MO. Cooper is a 12 year old Palomino Missouri Fox Trotter Gelding.

Mark & Suzanne Lenz asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating Mark’s horse. Mark Lenz reported that they were notified on Monday July 11, 2016 that Cooper had gotten out of his pasture. They are not sure how he was able to get out as all the gates were shut and there were no signs of a truck/trailer or hoof prints. We have notified Jefferson County Police Department and Animal Control.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

Suzanne Lenz informed Stolen Horse International that Cooper is Mark’s therapy horse. Suzanne went on to say “Cooper has helped Mark overcome a severe accident from 9/26/2014 when Mark was run over and almost died. Cooper is his therapy horse not only for building strength in his legs but also to help Mark have the will to live. Mark has special stirrups for him to ride. We have searched everywhere and no sign.”

Friends and neighbors have been helping with the search. Mark was up for over 35 hours straight searching for Cooper.

Suzanne informed us that “Cooper is everything to Mark. Cooper is very loyal to Mark and he understands Mark's difficulties. We are asking for the community to help us find our horse. We plea to the public to help get our family back together and help us find this horse.”

On July 14, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Lenz and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Cooper’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in her NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. People interested in helping can search for report number NR004990 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: https://netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=4990

“Circulating Cooper’s flyer and the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as the horse could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Cooper’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Mark & Suzanne Lenz or Stolen Horse International with information.
