MISSING EQUINE – Cocoa – New Hampshire

Antrim (HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY), NH Sunday, June 12, 2016

Thursday, June 9, 2016, Dawn Kraves’ beloved pony was reported missing and from her paddock.

Dawn Kraves asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating her pony.  Ms. Kraves advised that Cocoa was last seen Thursday, June 9, 2016. Cocoa escaped from her fenced in area along with two miniature donkeys and made it out to State Route 9. Ms. Kraves advised that they later saw them there at 6:00am but they ran into the woods. They later found and recovered the two donkeys that afternoon but Cocoa was not with them. Ms. Kraves has filed a missing equine report with the Antrim Police Department.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“Cocoa was the first horse that I bought. And our family has grown since then.”, says Dawn Kraves. “Cocoa is Queen of the pasture and has always been typically curious about things.” Cocoa was kept in a fenced in paddock along with the donkeys and their other livestock. Ms. Kraves explained that they have searched everywhere for Cocoa and have found no signs. She reports that they have contacted the police, horse rescues, veterinarian offices, Craigslist, NHSPCA, Antrims, the postal carrier and neighbors in the area.

On June 11, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Kraves and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Cocoa’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in her NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. People interested in helping can search for report number NR004940 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=4940

“Circulating Cocoa’s flyer and the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as the pony could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Cocoa’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Dawn Kraves or Stolen Horse International with information.
