PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STOLEN EQUINE – Cereza aka Sunny - Oklahoma

Maysville (GARVIN COUNTY), OK Wednesday, May 4, 2016

Monday, May 2, 2016, Suellen Castellon’s beloved horse was reported missing and presumed stolen from her pasture. She was last seen Sunday May 1, 2016.

Suellen Castellon asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating her horse Sunny, a 6-years-old Chestnut Paso Fino Mare, who is believed to have been stolen. Ms. Castellon advised that Sunny was in the pasture Saturday and Sunday and they spent all day with her. They checked on the horses the next day and all horses were there except Sunny. The top wire on a fence was lower and she may have jumped the wire but they were not sure. Ms. Castellon advised that they do not know if someone has her. Ms. Castellon has filed a stolen horse report with the Garvin County Sheriff’s Department.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“Sunny is just gone.”, says Suellen Castellon. “She was new to the heard. Sunny is a gift from a very close friend. My friend in Illinois gave me Sunny and we picked her up last week. She is extremely special to me. She is related to my first horse that I no longer have.  My horses are my life." Ms. Castellon went on to say that she named Sunny after a song her Daddy used to sing to her as a child – ‘Sunbonnet Sue’.”

Ms. Castellon further explained that Sunny was not broke and has not had any training. She was going to break her and train Sunny herself and keep her forever. Ms. Castellon is a retired Air Force officer and has volunteered with Horses For Heroes. She explained that she was hoping to use Sunny as a therapy horse for veterans or individuals suffering from PTSD. She explained that they have searched everywhere for her and have found no signs. The sheriff is also checking areas close to their home.

On May 4, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Castellon and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Sunny’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in her NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. People interested in helping can search for report number NR004905 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: https://netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=4905

“Circulating Sunny’s flyer and the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as the horse could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Sunny’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Garvin County Sheriff’s Department (Officer Holt - 405-238-7591), the owner (Suellen Castellon) or Stolen Horse International with information.
