Okay, folks, here's your sign - so to speak. We keep preaching (don't know what else to call it) about things to do around your houses and barns to either make them more unlikely to be hit by thieves or to help apprehend them and recovery your property.
On August 1, 2014, up in Clarence, NY, a horse farm owner WAS prepared, and, although he lost quite a bit of equipment, law enforcement has evidence of the theft and of who could have done it. How? Surveillance cameras caught the action. BUSTED!! So kudos, to you, Hans Mobius, at Maple Row Farm.
What else did Mr. Mobius get right? He gave the police lists of all of his equipment with make, model, and serial numbers. Since most thieves try to unload their booty quickly - typically at pawn shops - this information will help police in tracking down the offenders. So now we are REALLY impressed!!
Like any horse owner, all those tools were used fairly frequently in maintaining the property, so their absence is being felt. Total worth is likely in excess of $2,000. Any information regarding this should be directed to Det. Brinkerhoff of the Eric County Sheriff's Department.
