1/29/14 - Tarina is safe in her stall ... she was found about 2 acres away in heavy thicket. She has superficial wounds from the halter and her lead had been wrapped around her leg and had come unsnapped from her halter, so she is a little swollen. She has some scrapes on her head and face from the halter and who knows what else ... a few on her legs ... that's it. But otherwise good. We are sooo happy. We went right by her sooooo many times on the tracks.. and she was just inside about 30 feet in the heavy thicket. She never called out. She has a warm bucket of water with some molasses. I want to thank EVERYONE who shared her and helped us ... It's been unreal the support we have had from all over the United states actually.

The last few days were hard for many area residents. But when a family’s horse escaped from their home, the weather was only part of their concern.

“She escaped Monday early morning around 11. We thought she wasn't going to go very far but she actually did. We lost sight of her in about 40-acres of woods,” explained Jennifer Carico.

Tarina is a 10-month-old Arabian Filly show horse. She was getting ready to go to Knoxville when she was spooked and ran off.

“She ran around in the woods back here by our neighbors, and honestly most horses will just come back after they get done and she headed back this way one time and then she jumped a 4-foot fence back there and cleared it,” said Jennifer.
