Article Preview: If you own a horse, you are at risk for horse theft. Protect yourself, and your horses, with these tips from Stolen Horse International. Let’s face it, even responsible horse owners don't give much thought to horse theft prevention. We prefer to take a “that would never happen to me” attitude, rather than take precautionary measures to protect our horses.

A VICTIM'S STORY - On Sunday morning, Storm, our 7-year-old Palomino gelding, didn't come to the barn for breakfast. By evening, however, we got worried because he was the only one who didn't come up for dinner. SHI Announces Court Victories For Victims In Missing Horse Cases
May 2, 2006 -- SHELBY, NORTH CAROLINA – From California to Maryland, Stolen Horse International has cases proving the justice system can prevail! When a horse owner is faced with the devastating loss of his or her beloved horse, not through death, but through someone’s ill intent, that person is also faced with a decision of how to handle the situation. For Rod Vilencia of California the victory was more than a decade in the making. And in the end, he was blessed with the return of not only his mare, but with two of her offspring as well. The day of the criminal verdict was handed down, Rod quickly emailed his group of supporters the following:

Charity Trailrides To Benefit Stolen Horse International & Theft Victim
KANSAS - Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International, Inc. and her NetPosse Volunteers invite you to ride on behalf of SHI/NetPosse in Kansas, June 23-25, 2006. No, we aren't actually pursuing the "bad guys", but the proceeds from this first-ever SHI Charity Trail Ride will fund the efforts of NetPosse. Sign up deadline is May 19.
