Search & Rescue Trail Day being organized for
Peanut in Texas … WE NEED YOU!
NetPosse is imploring your help in
finding Peanut … missing from her pasture in Collin County, Texas, since
June 16.
Her owner has made pleas through
local media, but to no avail. Where is Peanut? Is she lost and wandering
in unknown territory or has someone found her?
Peanut’s family is organizing a
Search & Rescue trail ride for either July 8 or July 15. Here is where
they desperately need help. The actual date will depend on the response
received:
> NetPosse member needed to research area riding clubs and send
notices out to ask they join the search on horseback
> NetPosse member who has contact with someone in Collin’s County
Sheriff’s dept. to share info with them and see if they can participate
or help in any way
> NetPosse volunteers needed as
“team captains” for smaller search parties
> NetPosse volunteers needed to
check riders in/out
> NetPosse members needed to
donate items or food to feed search and rescue teams
> NetPosse members to donate or
find an area business to donate a nice prize to be offered to anyone
locating Peanut
The family is asking for
volunteers to join them or donate to the cause. Proceeds will be given
to Stolen Horse International. This event is intended to bring Peanut
home, but it can also bring NATIONAL attention to the plight of people
whose horses are stolen and missing. This is your chance to help from
near or far!
Another horse missing the same
week (Rose in Pennsylvania) in a similar fashion has already been found
this week – let’s bring Peanut home safely so we’ll have more cause to
celebrate!
Once the ride is organized, SHI
will design a flyer to be distributed to call for more volunteers to
help search.
ALSO: Anyone riding in the
area over the long holiday weekend, PLEASE look for Peanut! Pass this on to
ALL OF YOUR TRAIL BUDDIES!
Sincerely,
Angela Kirby
