*Do it yourself microchipping may not be for
everyone. If you do not have experience giving
injections to your horses it may be best to have your
vet do so on your next vet check. There is a small
risk of injury with improper insertion. In
some states only a vet can microchip a horse. Laws
vary so check with your state vet for the laws in you
state. Not all scanners read all chips. All
microchips are scanned and checked for defects before
leaving Stolen Horse International. SHI cannot be
responsible for mishandling of the chips once received
or damaged in the mail. NIP registrations (currently for equines only)
are not complete until the original form
is sent to Stolen Horse International, Inc. Copies
are not registered into the database.
