*Do it yourself microchipping may not be for everyone. If you do not have experience giving injections to your horses it may be best to have your vet do so on your next vet check. There is a small risk of injury with improper insertion. In some states only a vet can microchip a horse. Laws vary so check with your state vet for the laws in you state. Not all scanners read all chips. All microchips are scanned and checked for defects before leaving Stolen Horse International. SHI cannot be responsible for mishandling of the chips once received or damaged mail. NIP registrations are not complete until the original form is sent to Stolen Horse International, Inc. Copies are not registered into the database.
