What sets Debi Metcalfe apart from the other people talking about horse theft?
She has BEEN THERE!
Horse Theft. Been
There--Done That is just plain talk about horse
theft. Debi Metcalfe uses her experience as a theft
victim, combined with years of working with other victims
worldwide as an educational tool. If you would like to see
the table of contents to the book to get an idea of what subjects
are covered, click here.
This book covers the full spectrum of helpful
information: prevention tips, recovery tips, identification
methods, and helpful forms. The author wishes to bring the horse
owner into the world of the victim though their stories and email
excerpts. With an estimated 40,000 horses stolen each year
in the US alone, she hopes this book will leave you with more than
you want to know, but all that you have to know about horse theft.

Debi has turned the pain and worry of a personal experience into a
catalyst for stolen horse recovery, www.netposse.com. She
helps people turn anguish into action to recover their
loved horses by offering support and guidance every step
of the way during the search, and prosecution thereafter.

Subject: Debi, you have made a difference...
I read "Been There-Done That" and our horses will have microchips implanted tomorrow. It will cost $300 to freeze-brand them, but we're going to do that, too. Actually, one picture really did it. I saw a picture of a horse in there that looks like Mac. I love all our horses, but if anything happened to Mac, I don't know what I would do. I have raised him from a colt and trained him and I love him beyond words.
Thanks for an inspiring, horse-world-changing book.

Hi,
wanted you to know that my daughter's public speech, "AN
OPPORTUNITY TO STEAL"
( which was pulled from your book) and won first place at county
level! Looks like my daughter will be going to state competitions
with her speech and educate more people on you - Net Posse and
stolen horses.
Lots of horse people here were very quiet after the speech ...
lots of thinking going on.... THANK YOU for providing this
valuable service and help!
Talked with local sheriff here and want to give them educational
material so they can do their jobs more effectively and return
stolen horses faster.... Any ideas as to what I should provide
them with? Let me know, OK?
Thank You again, Julie Maragas
"I have been working with Debi via the Internet since 1999,
publishing her riveting story of the search and finding Idaho, and her other articles about preventing horse theft.
She alerts me about notices of horses that are stolen for
our publication. Actually
I never met her in person until this year - she and her
husband have taken on a personal crusade to educate others
about this shady side of the horse industry, and donated
their time to speak at a local horse club meeting for
SCARE - our SC horse rescue organization. It was
great to meet this one woman dynamo - who after
living through personal loss, has educated herself and
spends her free time educating others about this
horrifyingly common situation."

Hi Debi,
Just finished your book during my lunch hour today. I really
enjoyed it! You have so much information! You'll just never
know how many peoples life you have touched and continue to help
& support! Thanks for all that you've done & continue
doing!
I'm going to be making donations to you as I can afford. I can't
think of anyone/anywhere else I would rather send my money to.
Thank you so much!
Bless you,
Thalia Dalton
