Official Launching of The Year of the Stolen Horse

more on this to come soon!

For those of you who do not know, during the year that Idaho was away from her family, she was sent through several auctions the first six months and endured abuse, starvation and neglect. Fortunately, she was purchased by a family who gave her love and helped her heal as best she could. When she came home, she was never quite the same physically or psychologically ... but she knew she was home! Only Idaho will ever know what really happened during those 51 weeks, but it is because of her that so many horses have found their way home over the last 10 years ... and continue to do so today!

Debi Metcalfe and Idaho have appeared in numerous publications. Debi has worked with news media, national television and radio shows, and made appearances at events nationwide ... All in an effort to educate the public about horse theft and help recover stolen and missing horses, tack and trailers. There are many trainers, clinicians and other equine specialists, but there is only one expert on horse theft that is sought after and who law enforcement comes to for advice. She is Debi Metcalfe. She and Idaho continue to prove the Power of One.

Appearances & Engagements

We have many more events and projects in the works. However, we would like to have NetPosse members' help in organizing and hosting events such as trail rides, ID clinics and other fundraisers such as golf tournaments. If you are interested in doing this for SHI, please contact us at yearofthestolenhorse@netposse.com. The event can be anywhere, and, where possible, Debi Metcalfe will attend. We will also work to promote the event. We mainly need help from individuals who can organize and coordinate. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! Let's make this a year where horse thieves have to notice NetPosse!

Some people are hesitant to sign the petition because they do not wish their info to be made public or to be used on a mailing list. I hope the answers below help rectify any concerns:

1) I wondered who all sees my email address

ANSWER: NO ONE! I have admin access and cannot see them. We only have the power to DELETE an inappropriate one. Care2Connect ONLY requests your email to VALIDATE your "signature." Once signed, you will receive a couple of emails from Care2Connect, but you are not required to do anything further. Unfortunately, this is the "necessary evil" associated with Free Petitions.

2) I saw where your name can be anonymous but what about the rest of the info?

ANSWER: You can make your name anonymous so the only info the public sees is your city & state and country. We do not list the zip. Your answer to whether or not you've had a stolen horse IS seen, as are any comments.

If you prefer your comments not to be made public, please email us at: stolenhorse@netposse.com.

3) Where does this info go after it goes to Breyer? How do I know it won't be sold to someone?

ANSWER: We will print the petition and send it to Breyer with a cover letter and other pertinent info. Breyer will not have any more info than what is seen publicly. There is no way to create a mailing list from this info.

If anyone has anymore concerns, please feel free to email us!

Sincerely,
Angela Kirby
